In the past, showing a woman's breasts and nipples is taboo and is not generally accepted by conservative fashion standards.
However, as the "No Bra" movement created a buzz in the Hollywood and K-pop industry, an influx of celebrities flaunting a braless fashion style also increased.
Some A-list stars who first demonstrated this trend are Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Hwasa, the late Sulli, and more. The so-called Gen Z "bratz" also started incorporating a bra-free look on their daily 'fits.

As a result, the so-called "designer nipples" became a trend in the plastic surgery scene, where patients augment their nipples through fillers.
In an interview with Annabelle Durrey (30) with the New York Post, she narrated her experience after getting nipple augmentation.
"I thought it was sexy. (I fee) super confident. It was definitely worth it, 100%,” she attested.
Another patient, Kathleen Reyes (38) shared that she felt more "free" after getting the procedure.
In the same article, Dr. Norman Rowe from the Upper East Side who did the work for Durrey explained how nipple filler works.
This usually costs around $5,000, and it is a minimally invasive procedure that injects one cubic centimeter of dermal filler including hyaluronic acid to the nipple to improve its projection.
Other than joining the braless movement, Dr. Rowe stated that another reason patients are coming for this "designer's nipple" was for practical purposes, such as for moms who deformed their nipples after breastfeeding and giving birth.
